Privacy policy

This privacy policy covers a site that collects almost nothing. Birth dates entered into the calculators are processed in your browser and are never sent to a server, stored, or logged. What follows is what that means in practice, and what is still outstanding before launch.

Birth dates and calculator input

The moon phase calculation is client-side code that runs on your device. Dates you type stay in the page, are not written to browser storage, and disappear when you close or reload it. No account, login or email address is required to use any tool here, and there is no way for the site operator to see what anyone entered.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics, described in the next section, sets cookies to distinguish returning visitors from new ones. No advertising cookie and no cross-site tracking cookie is set by this site or by Google Analytics as configured here.

Analytics and third parties

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic: which pages are viewed, roughly how long a visit lasts, the visitor's general location down to city level, device and browser type, and which site or search engine sent the visitor here. It does not receive or transmit birth dates entered into either calculator, since those are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to any server, including Google's.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish returning visitors from new ones. Google acts as a data processor for this traffic data under its own privacy policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking sitewide with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

To be completed before launch. No advertising network is installed, and the site loads no external fonts or images. If either is added, this section must name the provider, state what it collects, and link to its own policy before it goes live.

Server logs

To be completed before launch. The hosting provider has not been chosen. Most hosts keep standard request logs including IP address, user agent and requested URL; the provider, the retention period and the legal basis need to be named here once that is settled.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected or stored by this site, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, export or erase. If server logs are introduced, the rights that apply to them under UK and EU data protection law will be described in the section above.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from any visitor regardless of age.

Changes
