Moon Phase Soulmate is a small, free set of moon phase calculators and reference pages. This page is about what the site does and how it is written; the arithmetic behind it lives on the methodology page.

What the site does

Three tools and a reference library. The soulmate calculator takes two birth dates and returns the pairing the two birth moon phases form. The birthday lookup takes one date and returns that phase on its own. The compatibility chart lets you browse all 36 combinations without entering anything. Around those sit eight phase pages and a set of longer guides.

Every calculation runs in your browser. No birth date is transmitted, stored or logged, and there is no account to create.

Who runs it

The site is run by one small independent team, not a publisher or an astrology practice, and there is no astrologer on staff whose authority the readings rest on. That is worth saying plainly rather than inventing credentials: what the site can genuinely claim is that the astronomy is computed properly from published algorithms and that the astrological material is attributed to its actual source rather than presented as house wisdom.

Why it exists

The moon phase soulmate test spread widely as a short-video format, and most of the calculators that followed it share two problems. They count a fixed 29.53 days from a single reference date, which drifts far enough over decades to name the wrong phase. And they blur the line between the measurable part, how much of the Moon was lit on a date, and the interpretive part, which has no evidence behind it at all.

This site was built to do the first part correctly and to be explicit about the second.

How the writing works

Two kinds of claim appear here and are kept apart deliberately. Moon phase figures are astronomy, computed from the lunar and solar series published in Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms, and checkable against any ephemeris. Compatibility readings are astrology, drawn from Dane Rudhyar's 1967 lunation types, and have no scientific support. Pages say which is which rather than blurring them, and no page claims that a moon phase predicts how a relationship will go.

There are no review counts, ratings, testimonials or usage counters on this site, because none of them would be real.

Corrections

Errors in the astronomy are bugs and get fixed. If a date returns a phase that disagrees with a reliable ephemeris, please report it through the contact page. The terms of use and the privacy policy cover the legal side, and the sitemap lists every page here.
